Basic User Status
In a real office, we do not speak to those who are out of the office or in a meeting.
Similarly, in the virtual space of VoicePing, you are able to see what other members are doing by their statuses.
This basic user status allows for you to know what other teammates are doing in real-time, greatly increasing the possibility to a successful start of the conversation just like in a real office.
There are three basic statuses in VoicePing allowing you to check if you can have a conversation with members or not.
Three Basic Statuses : Available/Busy/Away
Available
“Available” users have a green mark in the lower right corner of their avatars. (Every avatar is displayed both on the sidebar list and the floor).
Busy
“Busy” users have a red mark in the lower right corner of their avatars.
Away
“Away” users have a yellow mark in the lower right corner of their avatars.
Change the Basic Status
You can change your status at the menu under your name on the upper left area of the screen. Click on your current status and select either "Available" or "Busy".
Other members can check your status changed in real-time.
Integrate with Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar
When VoicePing is integrated with Google Calendar or Outlook, it will automatically change your basic user status to “Busy” when you have scheduled something like a meeting.
Integrate Google Calendar and/or Outlook Calendar
- Click on the gear icon at the upper right corner of the screen
- Click on “Integrations”
- Click on “Integrate now” next to “Integrate with Google Calendar” or Integrate with Outlook”
Display Status According to Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar
- Click on the arrow under your name
- Click on “Google Calendar”
"Away" Status: When Computer Has Not Been Used for Five Minutes
It's not uncommon to leave your seat with your computer open. In such a case where your computer has not been used for five minutes or more, the basic status will automatically switch to "Away".
When you return to your computer and use it, the status will immediately change to "Available".
However, this feature does not apply for users with a “Busy” status when they leave their computers.
The PC non-operation time can be set by the workspace administrator from the following times.
- 1 minute
- 3 minutes
- 5 minutes
- 10 minutes
- 20 minutes
- 30 minutes
- 60 minutes
- None
The Difference Between Quit and “Away” on VoicePing
When your quit the VoicePing application or turn off your PC, your avatar will disappear from the workspace.
The “Away” status on the other hand, is displayed only when your PC and the VoicePing application are open.
