What is basic status?
In a real office, you don't talk to people who are away from their desks or in meetings. This is because you can see what the other person is currently doing.
In this way, "status" in a virtual office makes possible things that can be done naturally in a real office.
Each member in VoicePing has one of three basic statuses, and by looking at this status you can tell whether or not you can talk to that person.
3 basic statuses: Online/Busy/Away
Online
" Online " users have a green mark at the bottom right of their avatar. Avatars are displayed in the sidebar list and in two places on the floor.
Busy
Users who are " busy " have a red mark at the bottom right of their avatar.
Away in
Users who are "Away " have a yellow mark at the bottom right of their avatar.
How to Change Basic Status
- Click the status button below your name in the top left of the app
- Select the status you want
Cooperation with Google/Outlook Calendar
When linked with Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar, the status will be automatically changed to "busy" during times when the calendar has meetings scheduled.
Please see the following page for details on how to collaborate.
🕹️App integration (Calendar, Chatwork, Slack)
"Away" status set when the computer is not operated
I think it's common for people to leave their desks with their computers open. In such cases, if the computer is idle for a certain period of time, the member's basic status will automatically change to "Away."
When someone who is "away" uses their computer again, their status returns to "online" immediately. At this time, you can return by operating the computer without operating the VoicePing app.
However, members who are "Busy" will not be automatically switched to "Away."
The workspace administrator can select and set the PC inactivity time during which the status will change by selecting from the following times.
- 1 minute
- 3 minutes
- 5 minutes
- 10 minutes
- 20 min
- half an hour
- 60 minutes
- none
PC idle time setting that changes to absentee status
You can set how many minutes of inactivity the status will be changed to Away.
- Click the gear icon at the top right of the app
- Click on the “Workspace” tab
- Set the time for "Away status change time"
- Click the "Update" button
Difference between VoicePing app termination and “Away” status
If you close the VoicePing app or shut down your computer, your avatar will no longer be visible in your workspace.
The "Away" status only occurs when both the computer and VoicePing are running.
"Working" status automatically resets after 24 hours
You can reset the "Working" status of all workspace users to "Online" every day at 24:00 UTC+9.
- Click the gear icon at the top right of the app
- Click on the “Workspace” tab
- Click the toggle button to automatically reset the “Working” status
- Click the "Update" button
